The DynaGrid project aims to develop a framework for dynamic formation and operation of networked microgrids (“DynaGrids”). As opposed to conventional microgrids, such networked microgrids do not have static boundaries and can form at any time to achieve benefits in normal and emergency conditions. At UW-Madison, we are examining several use cases of DynaGrids, including wildfire risk mitigation and equitable distribution of power.
