Overview
The electric power grid supports all aspects of society, delivering energy to homes, private industry, public institutions, and supporting other critical infrastructures including communications, water, and gas networks. With increasing electrification, it is becoming more directly relevant to the transportation network. Safe and efficient operation of the grid on a continental scale is challenging in an uncertain environment subject to frequent disturbances. It is essential to maintain stable operation of the grid.
